Finally, at long last Hjalti has released a full length (Winter asks what we did in the summer…) . The album is basically a more polished version of my live set and I think it turned out well. Some times it is really hard to get enough distance away from the songs to really know if it is good or not. You put so much of your self and your emotions into these things and objectivity gets lost somewhere along the way. There is definitely one song on the album (I’m not saying which one it is) that I oscillate between liking and loathing. I also know I could have spent a lot more time in the preproduction phase, but then again when is something you are working ever done. I think anyone will agree to that. So for better or worse it is out there and I hope all the hjaltinistas enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed making it (and narcissisticaly listening to it).

The song that made me want to write music in the first place

The stifling heat and sun of a Seattle summer has made hjalti quite the lazy boy, but all you long suffering fans take solace, not one but two releases are forth coming. The LONG awaited album “Winter Asks What We Did in the Summer…” is coming out in a matter of days as well as the live album from static glide. The d.iscontent crew is still working on future live dates so stay posted!
