I have gotten to the point where I am sick of my music. I hate it. I am contemplating deleting it all. Even with a few days off I still hate it. Oh woe is me! Anyways the d.iscontent crew had a little photo shoot which went well. it was a lot of fun, even if I had a huge “imperfection” on my face. I guess that’s why god made photoshop.
So I am getting compleatly frustrated with one song that I am writing. The sounds are there and the drums I like but it is just not working. I started mashing keys at one point just like when I played Mortal Kombat 3 and I kinda liked what came out, but I just can’t finish it. It is so frustrating, and with a month to go I can hear the ticking. Finish, finish, finish… Well back to work.
Good God I am not in love with myspace. Do you know how long it took me to upload a new song to there? Years. Ahh!!! Anyways I just finished a remix and am attempting to master it with out much luck. I never realized how crap I am at mastering until I have been called upon to do it on a regular basis. Well other than that I have been a buisy little Hjalti and finished a song, sorta. The mix I have is a little off(the high hat is way to high on the mix for example). I guess it isn’t exactly finished but I am tired of the only thing out there being a few years old. I’ve listened to so much more Euro techno since then.
So today was official d.iscontent meeting and workshop day. The meetings detailed our plans for our upcoming show on may 25th at the Baltic Room. We also started making plans for things past the Static Glide 2 show. I don’t want to jinx anything but all you folks in Portland keep your eyes open! The work shop created lots of minor improvements to allourvariouswebpresences, as well as the very first run through of our set which on my end was pretty sloppy. MiniAir’s set sounds great already, but I have lots of work to do especially in the mixing department.
So I am absolutely loving the way my set is turning out. Ten solid minuets so far and I really haven’t even began to flesh out everything. It is turning out way more poppy than I had originally planned but that’s probably because I have been listening to too much Euro-Techno of late.
